Disability Repro-Light
Is an organization established to eliminate reproductive health barriers to adolescents (9-13 years) , youths (<30) and women with disabilities by providing education, services, justice on sexual and reproductive health issues.
Persons with disabilities have the same sexual and reproductive health (SRH) needs as other people. Yet they often face barriers to information and services in addressed issues of family planning, maternal health, HIV and AIDS, adolescence and gender based and physical violence.
There are almost 4.2 million Tanzanians living with a disability and female persons with disabilities in Tanzania face numerous challenges in accessing sexual and reproductive health services and education. Cultural belief still regards them as not sexually active. This initiated the formation of this organization that can bring light toward sexual and reproductive health and rights to persons with disability therefore DISABILITY REPRO-LIGHT supplements other stakeholders’ efforts to help ignite and find solutions on SRHR to disabled people.
